Summary About the position: Gordon Elementary School is part of the Fort Bragg Schools Community in the DoWEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District. Gordon ES serves students in PK to grade 5. This position is located at: Department of War Education Activity, Mid-Atlantic District, Gordon Elementary School, Fort Bragg, NC. Description of Working Environment: Work is performed in a classroom setting. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). The Gary Ivan Gordon Elementary School is located in Fort Bragg Linden Oaks housing area and serves students from prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school opened for students on Jan. 5, 2009, and the dedication was Feb. 27, 2009.Major Duties: Participates in home visits, parent teacher conferences and other meetings Ensures continuity of program in teacher's absence Monitoring students during various phases of school day Maintains a clean and organized learning environment Preparing instructional materials related to classroom lessons Assists with teaching personal care routines: feeding, toileting and personal hygiene Operates Instructional equipment and technology devices Accompanying/supervising students on field trips Produce material to display educational objectives to class Apply assistive technology for recording student data
