The successful candidate will be a dynamic, collaborative, inspirational, tech-savvy educator with experience working with students who have diagnosed learning differences and who is looking to become a part of a vibrant teaching and learning community. This is a Temporary Contract maternity leave position from mid - January, 2027 to mid - January, 2028.Responsibilities â—       Deliver the curriculum as per the BC Ministry requirements●       Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students while creating a rigorous, positive and inclusive learning environment â—       Motivated to learn and improve teaching practice with an emphasis on personal and social development, critical and creative thinking skills, communication and effective assessment●       Collaborate and teach with other members of faculty within the grade team and school to create innovative lessons and units that embrace the universal design for learning framework â—       Build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community●       Oversee the development of individualized student learning plans, including tracking and monitoring student progressRequired qualifications â—       Bachelor of Education with experience and training in teaching students with learning differences â—       Master’s Degree or specific course work in Inclusive Education●       Knowledge of differentiated learning approaches and current practices in Inclusive Education●       Understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy skill development â—       Familiar with the BC curriculum●       Experience contributing to the writing of IEP goals●       Excellent interpersonal skills including a positive and proactive approach●       A passion for ongoing learning and professional development●       Exceptional teaching skills, with a creative approach to support children’s participation and active engagement in the classroom●       BC Teaching Certification â—       Basic First Aid â—       Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in CanadaOur “Must Haves”●       Respect, dignity and inclusion for all members of the community â—       Collaborative mind-set and courageous approach to adversity●       Demonstrated communications skills (oral and written) â—       Creative “out-of-the-box” thinker●       Flexible and adaptable and embraces change â—       Proven work ethic with utmost integrity●       Enthusiasm, eagerness and genuine interest in all aspects of the school’s success●       Self-awareness, with a desire for constant self-improvement (goal-oriented)We offer professional development opportunities, competitive salaries, Personal Days, access to an Employee and Family Assistance Plan, and access to a Health Spending Account, health and wellness initiatives, along with one of the most beautiful locations in Canada to work! The current 2026-27 faculty grid annual salary range for this position is $78,342 to $116,666 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range.
