Flexible for candidates relocating.Salary Range: $63,101 to $118,808 based on the QECO category and recognized teaching experience.Benefits: Subsidized housing, $1,000 signing bonus, $5,500 retention premium (paid in installments), $3,000 one-time moving allowance (150+ km), isolation and remoteness premium (varies yearly), $2,000 PD allowance, 10 sick days, 2 personal days, pension plan, and group life, disability, and health care insurance (dental and vision not included). Summary: Long Point First Nation is a proud English-speaking Algonquin community in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. We are semi-remote, with year-round highway access, reliable internet, and cell service. Major amenities, full health services, and regional hospital facilities are accessible in New Liskeard, Ontario (1 hr 45 min drive). Our school serves students from JK to Grade 11 and follows the Ontario curriculum in English; no French is required. Students also learn Algonquin language and culture and participate in land-based learning. We are looking for a Grade 7 teacher who sees the humor, energy, and potential in this age group. Grade 7 is a big year. Students are changing every day and figuring out who they want to be. You'll have the chance to shape a year that will set these students up for success and growth in high school and beyond. Working closely with our Grade 8 teacher, a standout educator who brings great energy to match yours, you will help build a distinct two-year intermediate program with its own identity. Small class sizes make room for strong relationships and individualized support. Specialist teachers deliver Algonquin, Core French, and Health and Physical Education, giving you 360 minutes of planning time every week, well above the standard. Learning here also doesn't have to stay in the classroom. With access to four school vans, field trips can be a regular part of the program. Closer to home, lessons can move outdoors to the forests, lakes, and rivers around the school. We want to hear from you. Duties:Teach Grade 7 Language, Math, Science, History, Geography, and The Arts.Plan units and lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.Differentiate instruction to meet students' needs.Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs.Bring Algonquin culture and local context into lessons where it fits.Build strong, trusting relationships with students.Manage classroom behavior with clear expectations and consistent routines.Assess student progress and give feedback to students and parents.Keep attendance records and complete report cards on time.Participate in staff meetings and professional development.Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities.Mandatory Requirements:Bachelor of Education degree or higher from an accredited university.Valid teaching certification from a Canadian province or territory.Ontario College of Teachers member, or willing to become one.Qualified to deliver the Grade 7 core curriculum.Legally entitled to work in Canada.
