Our academic programming and wrap-around supports are aligned with the Longhouse Values of the Host Nations.Position Summary:The Health Care Assistant (HCA) Program Instructor(s) is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student success in the Health Care Assistant Program. The instructor(s) will teach HCA 100, HCA 110, HCA 120, HCA 130, and HCA 140, providing classroom and practical learning opportunities, assessing student performance, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Working collaboratively with program coordinator and students, the instructor prepares learners with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required for careers in health care.Qualifications:• Current unrestricted practicing registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN with the BCCNM.• Minimum two (2) years of full-time nursing experience (1 year = 1,400 hours) within the Canadian health care system.• Experience caring for older adults with complex health needs, including home support and complex/multi-level care settings.• Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners; PIDP or equivalent preferred. Previous Health Care Assistant (HCA) program teaching experience is an asset.• Experience working with Indigenous communities or educational organizations is an asset.• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Moodle, and other educational technologies.• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
