Stoney Education Authority is seeking a caring, adaptable, and relationship-focused teacher to join the team at Mini Thni Community School in Mînî Thnî, Alberta.We currently have flexibility in the teaching assignment and are open to placing the successful candidate in either a Grade 6 classroom or a Grade 6/7 split, depending on the candidate’s experience, strengths, and teaching interests.Class sizes are generally 20 students or fewer. Each Junior High classroom is supported by an Educational Assistant, and teachers have access to multidisciplinary student supports including Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Behaviour Specialists, Speech and Language services, and school-based student support personnel.Key Responsibilities• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with the Alberta curriculum• Teach either a Grade 6 classroom or Grade 6/7 split assignment• Build strong, respectful relationships with students• Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs• Work collaboratively with Educational Assistants, specialists, administration, and colleagues• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback• Support student attendance, engagement, academic growth, and well-being• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school leadership• Participate in school activities, professional learning, and collaborative planning• Incorporate culturally responsive and land-based learning opportunities where appropriate• Demonstrate respect for Stoney Nakoda culture, language, community, and ways of knowingQualifications• Bachelor of Education or equivalent recognized teaching qualification• Eligibility for Alberta teacher certification• Experience teaching upper elementary or Junior High students is an asset• Experience teaching multiple subject areas is an asset• Strong classroom-management and relationship-building skills• Experience supporting diverse learning needs is an asset• Experience in First Nations, Indigenous, rural, or community-based education is an assetEarly-career teachers and experienced educators are both encouraged to apply.Compensation and BenefitsSalary placement is based on education and recognized teaching experience in accordance with SEA’s applicable teacher salary grid.Eligible employees also have access to SEA’s employee group benefits program in accordance with applicable plan terms.About Stoney Education AuthorityStoney Education Authority serves students across the Stoney Nakoda Nation and is committed to learning environments grounded in strong relationships, student well-being, academic growth, culture, language, and community.Educators are encouraged to bring curiosity, humility, flexibility, and a willingness to learn alongside students, families, colleagues, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members.
