Child Development Center facility hours of operation are 0530-1800 Monday-Friday. School Age Center facility hours of operation are 0530-1800 Monday-Friday. The hours for this position area split shift during school days (i.e. 5300-0800 and 1400-1800) and full days schedule as needed during non-school days/intersessions. Youth Center Facility hours of operation are from 1300-1900 Monday- Friday during school days and 1200-1800 Monday- Friday during school out days. These positions are located at Aliamanu Military Reservation (Honolulu, HI), Fort Shafter, Helemano Military Reservation (Wahiawa, HI), and Schofield Barracks. As an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 December 2026.Major Duties: Provides appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years in Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs. Actively supervises and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth during daily routines, indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings, and special events. Assists in implementing planned, developmentally appropriate activities, schedules, and routines for children/youth using prepared curriculum, activity plans, and materials which includes group and individual activities. Helps arrange for or serve appropriate snacks or meals. Identifies and responds to emergency situations including evacuations, child/youth illness, and physical and emotional needs.
