Assistant Education Administrator (Education Branch)

Summary Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. Major Duties: The Assistant Education Administrator develops and reviews policy for the establishment and operation of education, vocational, and leisure activity programs. Reviews policies from other disciplines for impact on education and recreation operations and provides feedback. Evaluates existing programs, instructional methods, materials, and equipment to ensure a modern and responsive system of education and construction leisure activity programs. Incumbent assists in the development and monitoring of an AOE budget of $5 to $6 million per year, the Reading is Fundamental and Artist-in-Residence budgets, and the Branch budget. Provides leadership and coordinates efforts to establish standards for operational programs, monitors compliance with those standards and provides technical assistance in operations. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
