Summary This Part-Time position is located at the Middle School/Teen Center at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. A cut-off of 09/03/2026 will be used to send eligible applicants to management. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Join our Child and Youth Services (CYS) team and provide assistance to children in strengthening their social/emotional/academic development, particularly in the areas of science, technology, math and resiliency. As an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. These positions will be used to fill positions across the CYS program in different facilities and age groups. Referrals will be based on the preferences you indicate in the application process.Major Duties: Supervises an assigned team consisting of up to twelve ratios children/youth comprised of direct care professionals and volunteers. Serves as a first-level supervisor for assigned staff. Conducts and review program evaluations of classroom and activity areas, identifying areas that need improvement, and establishing and implementing corrective action plans to address deficiencies within the prescribed timeframes. May serve as the Manager on Duty assuming responsibilities and duties of the program Director or Assistant Director in their absence when assigned. Works in conjunction with the Training Specialist and conducts written observations of assigned direct care professionals during all hours of operation and evaluates employees on established performance standards. Resolves complaints related to personnel concerns; gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters; promotes and models safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices.
