Summary About the position: Bowley Elementary School is part of the Fort Bragg Schools Community in the DoWEA Americas Mid-Atlantic district. Bowley ES serves students in PK to grade 5. This position is located at: Department of Defense Education Activity, Department of Defense Education Activity Mid-Atlantic District, Bowley Elementary School, Fort Bragg, NC. Description of Working Environment: Work is performed in a classroom setting. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Bowley Elementary School is located on Fort Bragg, NC. Students who are enrolled at Bowley Elementary School are dependents of military personnel at Fort Bragg, serving students in Prekindergarten through fifth grades. The school is funded by the Department of Defense. Bowley Elementary is one of 11 schools on Ft. Bragg and belongs to the DoDEA Americas Mid-Atlantic district under the direction of Mr. Ryan Smith, Superintendent, and follows the directives, curricula, and guidelines from the umbrella organization of DoDEA. Bowley Elementary will serve students from Bougainville, Corregidor Court, and Hillcrest neighborhoods.Major Duties: Participates in home visits, parent teacher conferences and other meetings. Ensures continuity of program in teacher's absence. Monitoring students during various phases of school day. Maintains a clean and organized learning environment. Preparing instructional materials related to classroom lessons. Assists with teaching personal care routines: feeding, toileting and personal hygiene. Operates Instructional equipment and technology devices. Accompanying/supervising students on field trips. Produce material to display educational objectives to class. Apply assistive technology for recording student data.
