MTSS Program Specialist

Richland County School District Two is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: MTSS Program Specialist Location: District Office School Year: 2026-2027 General Description: Under general supervision and under the direction of the MTSS Program Supervisor, supports the implementation of the District Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework at assigned schools and in compliance with South Carolina Department of Education (SCDOE) requirements.Facilitates student success by assisting schools in applying a comprehensive, data-driven system of academic and behavioral supports. Supports high-quality Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III instruction and intervention. Provides site-based coaching, assistance, and professional development to teachers, administrators, and support staff. Collaborates with school-level academic and behaviorinterventionists, instructional assistants, and other staff to implement effective multi-tiered practices to improve student achievement, wellness, and behavioral outcomes. Minimum Requirements: Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field is required. A Master's Degree in Education or a related field is preferred.Certification/License:A valid South Carolina Teacher or Service Field Professional certificate appropriate to the assignment is required.Advanced training in MTSS systems and protocols is required.South Carolina Mentor Training and/or SC Mentor Trainer Certification is preferred.Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license or government-issued picture ID. Work Experience:Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching or service fields experience (e.g., school counselor, school psychologist) at the Professional certificate level; relevant experience in the development and implementation of successful multi-tiered systems (MTSS) to support students with academic and behavioral challenges; or any equivalent education, training, and certificationrequirements that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
