Social Worker Liaison

DeKalb County School District is accepting applications for the following position: Social Worker Location: Wrap Around Services Position Summary: Works to enhance academic success and socio-emotional well-being of students by providing direct and indirect socialwork services, fostering partnerships, and facilitating communication between school, home, and the community.Leads initiatives at a district center to improve graduation rates and address student needs. This role requiresexpertise in the field and the ability to operate with limited oversight. Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university required.• Minimum three (3) years of professional social work, counseling, or closely related experience required.• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved certificate in school social work at level S-5 orabove required.• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6, or above preferred. If a level L-5, NL-5, PL-6, or above certificate is not held, the individual mustbe eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and DeKalb County School District (DCSD) regulations and reporting requirements• Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5)• Knowledge of and ability to apply social work ethics, modalities, and procedures• Ability to work independently with limited oversight• Ability to manage standard projects, programs, or processes• Ability to manage own time and complete tasks in alignment with end goals• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to adapt communication style to differing audiences• Ability to enhance relationships with senior internal and external partners not familiar with the subject matter• Ability to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations while managing tasks effectively under pressure with competing deadlines• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
