Advanced Academics Coordinator

Prince William County Public Schools is inviting applications for the following position: Advanced Academics Coordinator School Year: 2026-2027 Location: Student Learning Job Summary: The Advanced Academics Coordinator is housed within the Advanced Academics and Specialty Programs (AASP) office and provides district-wide leadership and support for advanced academic programs, including International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge, and Advanced Placement (AP). This position ensures effective implementation and instructional alignment with program goals and serves as the primary liaison between the district and program institutions. This position collaborates with central office staff to facilitate professional development, support program evaluation, and promote continuous improvement by managing and analyzing program data to inform strategic decision-making and enhance student outcomes. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of instructional processes and leadership development strategies that support the development of teacher leaders and instructional improvement.• Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, students, and the community.• Ability to prepare, analyze, and submit data reports, studies, correspondence, and other appropriate documents.• Ability to plan, design, and facilitate high-quality professional development for educators.• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.• Demonstrated knowledge and the ability to share research and inquiry-based instructional strategies and best practices, including differentiation techniques.• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation. Required Qualifications: Master's DegreeEducation, curriculum, administration/supervision, or related content area5 years Demonstrated success in secondary-level teaching with at least two years in advanced academics (AP, IB, or Cambridge)1 year of leadership experience at the school, division, or program level (can be concurrent with teaching)Must hold or be eligible for a Postgraduate Professional Teaching Certificate from the Commonwealth of Virginia with an endorsement in administration/supervision.
