Summary This position is located at the Kleber Child Development Center (CDC) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Morale Welfare and Recreation Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. This position is located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Kaiserslautern has developed into the largest US military community outside the United States. The city of Kaiserslautern is nestled in the small hills west of the Rhine River Valley, on the edge of the famous German Pfalz forest. Although the climate is changeable much of the time, the area does enjoy many pleasant days with reasonable temperatures. The winter is short and mild with some snowfall. The summer is generally warm and comfortable, with few hot days. Kaiserslautern has over 100,000 residents and an additional 50,000 personnel associated with the American Armed Forces. For additional information please visit http://www.kaiserslautern.army.mil/:Major Duties: Serves as a first level supervisor for assigned staff and assists the Director in the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the program/activity. The incumbent reports and works directly with the Director with minimum supervision. Assists with providing program oversight and accountability for the performance of employees, the safety of children, and customer needs. Supervises staff to include assigning work, conducting performance reviews, and approving leave. Establishes local performance standards for employees and volunteers using established standards and requirements and rates employees' performance. Ensures facility complies with health, fire, safety, USDA, and program regulatory guidance and standards. Observes program participants and identifies signs of illness, abuse or neglect, emotional distress, and follows mandated reporting protocols. In conjunction with the Director ensures compliance with standards, criteria, and laws to obtain and retain DoD certification and national accreditation. Assists with taking action to implement recommendations or correct deficiencies.
