Speech-Language Pathologist

Hillsborough County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Speech-Language Pathologist Location: Pizzo K-8 School Position Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting evaluations and providing educationally relevant treatment for students with speech, language, and related disorders across grade levels, in accordance with federal, state, and district policies. The Speech-Language Pathologist works independently within the established scope of practice for the profession, and reports to the site administrator and/or Supervisor, Speech-Language. Qualifications: Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Department of Health License in Speech Language Pathology or Florida Educator Certificate in Speech Language Impaired K-12. American Speech Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred. A Florida Department of Health Provisional License will be accepted for clinical fellows.Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or the community. Writes speeches and effectively presents to managers, the public, and school board.Mathematical Skills: Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs. This position may require traveling to various school sites, work locations, and/or community organizations throughout the district.
