As an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 December 2026. This announcement may be used to fill positions across the CYS program in different facilities and age groups. Referrals will be based on the preferences you indicate in the application process.Major Duties: Serves as the school liaison officer (SLO) with responsibility for the oversight of all installation Child and Youth Services (CYS) issues involving public schools and their relationship to the local military community. Functions as an intermediary between and advocate for parents/youth and school administrators. Assesses needs and serves as the focal point for gathering and disseminating information concerning the local schools. Works closely with the Youth Education Liaison Services (YELS) Specialist and other CYS staff to successfully integrate CYS initiatives Programs with school resources to meet the needs of constituents. Serves as a member of the Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and CYS baseline standards. Ensures program contributes to achieving and maintaining DoD certification. Serves as Subject Matter Expert on installation child and youth SLS. Prepares reports, surveys, and briefings for command and installation on matters pertaining to SLS. Procures supplies and equipment to support program goals and objectives.
