We are one of Manitoba’s Top Employers and offer a generous Total Compensation Package with health benefits, a great pension plan along with the opportunity for personal and professional growth including tuition waivers.DUTIES:Reporting to the Associate Dean, Mihcet Meskanawah Teaching and Learning (MMTL), the Administrative Assistant serves as the primary on site contact for the MMTL office and provides clerical and administrative support to the Associate Dean and department. The incumbent supports daily office operations by providing front line service to students, staff and the public; responding to inquiries and providing support for activities and events. Key responsibilities include office administration, organizing and scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing of a wide range of reports, correspondence and meeting minutes, arranging travel, supporting recruitment activities, maintaining files and providing administrative support for departmental initiatives and events. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Office Assistant Certificate: equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered• Experience working in an Admin role in a professional office environment• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills• Experience coordinating and scheduling meetings and travel arrangements• Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office 365 and ability to use Zoom and/or Teams• Ability to take initiative, work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment, multitask and meet deadlines• Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality• Commitment to life-long learning ASSETS: • Ability to speak and Indigenous language• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures• Experience working in a post secondary environment Conditions of Employment:Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
