Our academic programming and wrap-around supports are aligned with the Longhouse Values of the Host Nations. Position Summary: The instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction using appropriate teaching methods that support learner success and align with NEC policies, procedures, and academic standards. This role includes preparing and delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, supporting learners through tutoring and academic guidance, and assessing student progress through assignments, quizzes, and examinations.  The instructor will use NEC’s Moodle learning platform to share course materials, post readings, manage assessments, and support students in both in-person and online components of the course. This position plays a key role in fostering a culturally safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment grounded by NEC’s Longhouse values. For more information about the AAIS program, please visit our website www.necvancouver.org. Qualifications: Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (master’s preferred) • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field • Significant online teaching experience, preferably in the post-secondary education system • Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills • Knowledge of Indigenous values, communities and instructional methodology, and experience working with Indigenous organizations and Indigenous adults. • Experience with Moodle and MS Teams are a must.
