It delivers educational programming that fosters extraordinary student-teacher interaction, student leadership and entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue and engagement, and high-caliber athletics. COMPETITION NUMBERC26-27-RE-16 POSITIONPart-time teacher - Nursing (Fall 2026) The College is seeking to hire a part-time professor (Clinical Instructor) to teach the following credited course (clinical) within the Nursing program in the Fall 2026. 180-D12-HR Introduction to NursingThis course introduces students to the foundational principles of nursing, emphasizing personal and professional growth, ethical responsibilities, and the role of the nurse within the Canadian and Quebec health care systems. Students develop a strong understanding of the nursing process and critical thinking skills necessary for identifying and addressing nursing problems. Key nursing procedures, including clinical physical examination, hygiene, vital signs monitoring, feeding, dysphagia management, infection control, and clinical assessment, are explored in depth. Students also learn to assess and mitigate complications related to immobility. Emphasis is placed on the safe and effective application of assessments and interventions to promote patient well-being. Through a combination of theory, hands-on lab practice, and clinical experiences, students integrate knowledge, technical skills, and professional attitudes in real-world health care settings, preparing them for more advanced nursing practice. WORK LOCATION325 boul. de la Cité-des-Jeunes, Gatineau, Québec, Canada, J8Y6T3 The stage component of the contract is offered at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH). Thursdays (90 hours/12 shifts) day/evening rotation; starting on September 10th, 2026, with availability to the College as of August 17th, 2026, for meetings and Hospital orientation. SALARY RANGE$57,548.00 - $110,825.00 DESCRIPTION:The Heritage College Nursing Program provides a part-time, three-year RN competency-based diploma program. Given that nursing is a practice-based profession, we believe that clinical experience is a vital and integral component of the curriculum, providing students with hands-on opportunities to practice their nursing skills under direct supervision of their clinical instructor. The clinical instructor supports student learning, liaises with assigned nurses in a clinical unit and collaborates with the Faculty Team Leader. The clinical instructor role is an essential and powerful component of nursing education. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Attend clinical instructor and student hospital orientation for all positions.Attend and assist students with skills lab when clinical groups are in a Lab environment or using the Simulation Lab.Support student learning:Select appropriate patient assignment as per clinical pedagogy.Direct supervision and monitor student performance in clinical setting;Organize pre-post conferences online;Review and offer weekly written and verbal feedback of student learning objectives;Review and discuss student midterm self-assessments;Assess student progress and complete final student evaluations;Ensure completion of student clinical assignments and assess competency as per rubric within the given time frame. Liaise with faculty to ensure coherence across class;Conduct midterm and final evaluation with students.Collaborate with course faculty: ensure ongoing communication with course team leader.Attend weekly student progress meetings online.
