OPEN COMPETITION   The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year, to the following full-time term position based out of Sally Ross School (SRS) in Hall Lake, SK:  VICE PRINCIPAL    The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:• Under the direction of the Principal, the Vice-Principal acts as an assistant to the Principal, or in the absence of the Principal, assumes the duties and responsibilities of that position;• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to teaching, paraprofessional and support staff in areas of program delivery, classroom management and instruction;• Assist with developing and implementing long and short range objectives for the school year;• Ensure school year calendar, term class schedules, Saskatchewan curriculum are followed;• Assist with developing and implementing a public relations strategy that increases community awareness of the school and its programs;• Assist in ensuring that the school extra-curricular programs (sports, recreational or cultural activities) are active and comprehensive;• Assist with completing all required reports and records of all transaction/statistics.  The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:• B. Ed with a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate is acceptable, however candidates with or currently seeking a Master’s Degree or Post-Graduate training will be given preference;• Minimum 5 years teaching experience with above average classroom organization and management skills;• Experience teaching students of varying abilities and knowledgeable with Special Education programs;• Previous experience with administration of a First Nation school would be an asset;• Some experience with budget control, school policies, student safety standards and human resource management;• Familiarity with the Virtues project and Circle of Courage project;• Dynamic, outgoing individual with a passion for student success;• Strong team player with a commitment to work with community members, education board and parents;• High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to resolve conflicts objectively and with understanding;• High level of written and oral communication skills;• Solid work ethic and flexibility when the occasion arises;• Possess an appreciation for the desires and aspirations of First Nation people and empathy for First Nation children;• Passionate and strong advocate and supporter of the concept of “Indian Education”;• Familiarity with Woodland Cree language is a definite asset.              Date of Posting: July 24, 2026                   Deadline: Until Suitable Candidate is Found
