The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in instructional and assessment practices, a passion for teaching, and a strong understanding of how girls learn best. This individual will teach Grade 3, including all core subjects, and they will participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance students’ experiences at school.  QualificationsBachelor of EducationBritish Columbia Teaching Certification or equivalentFamiliarity with the BC Curriculum is an assetElementary school qualificationExperience in teaching language arts, math, science, and social studiesExperience in differentiating instruction, such as small-group work in mathematics and targeted early literacy intervention strategiesMinimum of three years of elementary teaching experienceCoaching and/or extra-curricular experience is an asset Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceStrong knowledge of BC CurriculumExperience using an inquiry-based and/or project-based learning approachKnowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach and how this applies to school-age childrenKnowledge of the current research on girls and learningDemonstrated experience as an enthusiastic, innovative, and caring educatorA commitment to diversity and inclusion in all its many dimensionsCollaborative and flexible, supportive, and effective team-playerAbility to develop strong professional relationships with all stakeholdersExemplary communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time-management skillsDemonstrated commitment to educating the whole studentDemonstrated ability to integrate technology purposefully to transform learningDemonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learnersCommitted to continuous professional growth and improvementExperience working with the online platforms Seesaw and Google ClassroomFaculty at York House are provided with the following:A diverse and inclusive work environmentSmall class sizes and time for planning and working collaborativelyAccess to exceptional resourcesA robust peer Buddy ProgramCompetitive compensation and benefits package
