Summary This position is located at Fort Irwin, CA. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours per week), will receive: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Fort Irwin is a world class training center for America's Soldiers, known for its excellent desert training and vast recreational opportunities. Located approximately 37 miles NE of Barstow, California, in the High Mojave Desert midway between Las Vegas Nevada and Los Angeles, California, Fort Irwin has many fun activities such as Desert Discovery, 6 hole Pitch N' Putt golf course, Skeet and Trap range, High Adventure and Sightseeing Trips. Nearest airports are located in Ontario, CA (120 miles), Los Angeles (175 miles) and Las Vegas (180 miles). - Selectees may have the option to reside in On-Post Housing, at their own cost. This announcement will be used to fill positions across the CYS program in different facilities and age groups. Referrals will be based on the preferences you indicate in the application process.Major Duties: Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program and maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants based on the group and individual children and youth. Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements. Maintains program participation data and complete daily report.
