Summary About the position: Devers Elementary School is part of the Fort Bragg Schools Community in the DoWEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District. Devers ES serves students in PK to grade 5. This position is located at: Department of Defense Education Activity, Department of Defense Education Activity Mid-Atlantic District, Devers Elementary School, Fort Bragg, NC. Description of Working Environment: Work is performed in a classroom setting. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Devers Elementary is one of nine schools in the DoWEA Mid-Atlantic District at Fort Bragg. Students at Devers are in Prekindergarten through 5th grade. Devers is a neighborhood school and many students walk. Neighborhoods served by Devers Elementary School are Ardennes, Bastogne Gables, Bataan, Cardinal Heights, Hillcrest, Pope Army Airfield, & Woodland Heights.Major Duties: Monitoring students during various phases of the school day Provides assistance in toileting, feeding, eating, and personal hygiene Supports educational efforts in the Special Education classroom and general education classroom as needed Performs administrative tasks such as attendance records, filing, scheduling, and reviewing assignments Works with students in accordance with plans developed by the specialist and educator Participates in Parent Teacher conferences Preparing instructional materials related to classroom lessons
