Ross SchoolExternal Job PostingLibrary Technician - Full Time/Permanent Purpose of Job:The library technician is responsible for the overall administration and organization of the Oscar Lathlin Collegiate library and its contents. Including the book circulation and shelving, ordering new books and materials within a budget, and cataloging library contents. Qualifications:• Post-secondary education in a related field and/or relevant work experience.• Preferred/must have one-year library training certificate.• Strong communication skills.• Ability to be patient and handle difficult situations.• Team work & collaboration skills.• Knowledge and experience with computers & assistive technology tools.• Cree is an asset. Responsibilities:• Cataloguing materials based on the Dewey Decimal System & using library filing techniques.• Taking inventory on a regular basis, processing new books, record keeping, and repairing damaged material.• Preforming administrative duties that contribute to the efficiency and resourcefulness of the library.• Help students become familiar with the library and educating them on the proper use of the facility.• Assist staff and students in locating materials and books.• Working with the teachers to ensure books used for study material are ordered in advance.• & Supervising students in the library who are on a spare or have a library pass. Deadline: August 14, 2026 @ 4:30 p.m.
