OPASKWAYAK EDUCATION SERVICES INC.REQUIRES External Job PostingAccessible Transportation Driver – 1 Year TermExternal PostingPurpose of Job:The ATV Driver will primarily be responsible for transporting students of various ages to and from their homes, off campus educational programming and respective schools while ensuring their comfort, dignity, independence, and safety Qualifications:• Must possess a valid Class 2 Driver’s license.• A valid School Bus Operator’s Certificate, or willingness to obtain certification.• Clean driver’s abstract and medical.• Must have valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.• Ability and experience of loading and unloading a person in a wheelchair is a must. Responsibilities:• Will drive all forms of Opaskwayak Education Services Inc. which include Buses and Accessible Transportation Van.• Will be responsible for following established routes and ensuring passengers arrive at their destination on time.• Safely pick up and deliver students to and from their homes and schools, following the assigned time schedule throughout the day.• From time to time driver may transport passengers on special excursions.• At times, the Bus Driver will assist students with boarding, exiting and crossing the street while driving the accessible transportation van.• Adhere to and enforce safety rules and standards.• Must comply with all traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.• May be required to resolve concerns in a positive, respectful and proactive manner.• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections prior to departing for any trip and complete daily driver logs; Complete mileage logs.
