Elementary Assistant Principal

Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Assistant Principal Location: Whittier Elementary School Description: Under the direction of the school principal, the Assistant Principal takes charge of the school in the absence of the principal, and assists in the direction and coordination of educational, administrative, supervisory and counseling activities at school, and performs related duties as required. Qualifications: Commitment to the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels.Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically.Openness to feedback and willingness to take personal responsibility.Passion to embrace the goals of raising achievement for all students and closing the achievement gaps.Five (5)+ years of successful teaching experienceTwo (2)+ years of instructional leadership experience Valid Principal Endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of EducationValid Teacher Evaluator Endorsements Proficiency in using the Danielson Framework to efficiently leverage required teacher observations as a useful platform for instructional growthKnowledge of Common Core State StandardsExperience with PBIS; SEL and Restorative practicesFamiliarity with systems including Illuminate, Tableau, and Infinite CampusExperience with schedulingCommitment to community outreach and involvementPositive, proactive approach to problem solvingExperience with management of social media or willingness to learn;Bilingual-Spanish speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
