Summary This position is located in the Office of Patent Training (OPT). As Supervisory Training & Development Specialist, you serve as an authoritative resource for OPT in conducting training needs assessments, developing training strategies, integrating technology into distance learning, supporting leadership and team-building efforts for patent managers and executives, and designing, developing, and evaluating agency training and education programs. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. In this role, you will: Serve as an adult education expert and advisor for training and developmental programs based on organizational needs assessments or stated goals. Develop, plan, and conduct training needs assessments and organizational analyses of business units to evaluate areas for improvement. Coordinate and collaborate with faculty and staff of OPT to ensure recognized leadership methodologies and competencies. Exercise leadership and expertise in the integration of technology to enhance training and shape employee engagement programs. Serve as an expert facilitator of focus sessions, discussions, interviews to obtain in-person data collection for feedback assessment. Be responsible for a full range of supervisory duties, plans work to be accomplished, set priorities, make work assignments, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff.
