 About Dixonville Rural Academy Dixonville Rural Academy (DRA) is an Alberta public charter school serving Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Dixonville, Alberta. At DRA, students are encouraged to see learning as purposeful, practical, and connected to the world around them.Position Overview DRA is seeking passionate, adaptable, and relationship-centred Classroom Teachers who are excited to help shape a growing K–12 school with a distinct rural identity. This is more than a classroom role; it is an opportunity to be part of a close-knit learning community where teachers know their students, connect learning to real life, and help build a school culture grounded in curiosity, confidence, responsibility, and community pride.The successful candidate will deliver engaging, student-centred instruction in a multi-grade environment while supporting academic growth, social-emotional development, and inclusive learning for all students. Teachers at DRA are encouraged to be creative, collaborative, and responsive—bringing learning to life through projects, local context, agriculture-connected experiences, and strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community.Qualifications• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, or eligibility for certification in Alberta• Strong instructional practice, effective classroom management, and the ability to plan for diverse learners• A student-centred approach grounded in inclusion, care, high expectations, and relationship-building• An interest in agricultural literacy, experiential learning, rural education, and connecting curriculum to authentic local contexts• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners• Flexibility, collaboration, and enthusiasm for contributing to a small, rural, multi-grade school environment
