Principal – LITTLE PINEChief Little Pine School is a K5 to Grade 12 school operated on the Little Pine First Nation, located about 79 km west of North Battleford, SK. The Little Pine First Nation is seeking a Full Time Principal for Chief Little Pine School. The principal will provide leadership and administration to our school Staff and Students in a manner that supports their continuing education and professional growth.  The school program includes after school sports activities, cultural days and an Elder’s Program.Little Pine First Nation is a vibrant community with high aspirations for all our students and staff. We believe that through inclusion and support, all students are capable of achieving success. We are an active community with a wide range of extracurricular activities to meet the needs of our students. Requirements and Skills:• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;• Maintain an educational philosophy and environment which encourages an inclusive and welcoming attitude on behalf of all teachers and students;• Establish, maintain and enforce rules for classroom conduct and behaviour;• Maintain effective communication to staff, student, parents, and community;• A teaching philosophy that reflects an effective and cooperative learning approach;• Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, professionals and community service agencies; • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress;• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behaviours, social development, and physical health;• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops;• Perform administrative duties and sponsor extracurricular activities • Supervise both professional and support staff • Conduct performance evaluations on staff • Utilize all available school facilities, materials, and staff service personnel• Demonstrated ability to connect with children in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom; • Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and extra-curricular activities• Be able to prepare students for further educational goals• Participation in curriculum development as required• Review or authorize all School staff requests for instructional materials and equipment within the year’s budget• Make recommendations to Administration on any matter which will improve the excellence of the school• Perform other duties as required by the Director of Education Qualifications:• Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed.);• Master’s Degree in Education preferred;• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Leadership role with a Teaching background;• Previous successful school administration experience would be considered an asset;• A Valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate;• Ability to maintain Confidentiality;• Must have a Valid Driver’s license;• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills;• Demonstrated organization and analytical skills;• Ability to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team;• Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues;• Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills;• Cultural Competency;• Provide a recent Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference CheckDeadline for applications is OPEN UNTIL FILLED
