Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD3024000 and is part of the TN 118th WING Air National Guard. THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR RECRUITMENT OR RELOCATION INCENTIVE UNDER QUALIFYING FACTORS. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. The National Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States. Since the earliest American colonial days, citizens have joined together for collective defense. This position is located within the Air National Guard (ANG) Wing Force Support Squadron (FSS), supporting Commander's Support Staff (CSS) and Orderly Room (CCQ) operations at the Group/ A-Staff level. The position is administratively owned by the FSS, as reflected in the Unit Manning Document (UMD), and falls under the supervisory control of the CSS Superintendent for full-time resource management. The primary purpose of this role is to evaluate and manage the training and education program on behalf of the ANG. The incumbent provides oversight and management of the training/education program, readiness, and career development support across multiple units. The position serves as a liaison between the units they support and the Force Support Squadron (FSS) Force Development Office (FDO), which is the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for training programs. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Personnel Services Delivery Guide (PSDG) to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.Major Duties: As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-09, you will oversee Group Training Programs and Subordinate Unit Compliance. This position serves as the Group Unit Training Manager (UTM) and operates under the direction of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) - Force Development Office (FDO). Coordinate Career Development Course (CDC) and Upgrade Training Oversight. Conduct Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and evaluate Unit Training Programs. Manage formal schools and distance learning integration. Support Commander-Level Board Processes and Force Development initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
