High School Counselor

Hillsborough County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: High School Counselor Location: Tampa Bay Tech High School Position Summary: The Counselor, High School, is responsible for coordinating and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program to include academic advisement, social/personal counseling, career exploration, and parent/community involvement. Qualifications: Education: A master's degree in School Counseling is required.Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate: Guidance and Counseling (Grades PK-12) is required.Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or the community. Writes speeches and effectively presents them to managers, the public, and the school board.Mathematical Skills: Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computes rate, ratio, and percent and draws and interprets bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
