A Different Way to Serve. Fort Carson Child and Youth Services (CYS) provides the "Gold Standard" in childcare and youth out of school options for Soldiers and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians. Professional staff care for children and Youth with consistent, effective, and safe programs in state-of-the-art facilities. Contributing to building and enhancing military readiness, retention and family resilience. As an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 December 2026.Major Duties: Incumbent is responsible for the administration of the facility to include implementation of budgeting and financial management, personnel management, program operations, special needs, and compliance, among other tasks. Serves as a first level supervisor for assigned staff. Supervises staff to include assigning work, conducting performance reviews and approving leave. Makes decisions on work and administrative issues presented by subordinate supervisors. Ensures the implementation of a developmentally appropriate CYS program that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of children and youth. Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of employees and the safety of children in accordance with Federal, DoD, Service, and local policies and standards. Ensures the program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Prepares and executes Appropriated fund (APF) and Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) budgets for the center.
