The mission of the United States Air Force Academy is to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become leaders of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation. USAFA, located just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an undergraduate institution that awards the Bachelor of Science degree as part of its mission to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead in the United States Air Force and in service to our nation. Faculty applications are invited from candidates who can contribute to this mission by interacting with cadets, both in and out of the classroom, as instructors and mentors. The student body consists of approximately 4,000 men and women representing every state and several foreign countries. The Academy faculty is an integrated group of military and civilian educators. The curriculum includes core academic and professional courses, and 27 disciplinary and interdisciplinary majors.Major Duties: The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Department of Athletics, anticipates filling the TERM (full-time) position of Advanced Physical Education Instructor (Baseball). This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 5 years. Extensions and/or Subsequent re-appointments may be considered based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability. This position will perform faculty duties in the Athletic Department. Manage and instructs all facets of an intercollegiate men's baseball wrestling program. Instructs cadets in the sport of baseball administers organizational aspects of the intercollegiate men's baseball program, to include, but not limited to: lesson planning, scheduling, budgeting, recruiting of cadet athletes, maintenance of supply and equipment accounts and safe of athletic facilities and physical training. Manages training program in full compliance with the rules, regulations and bylaws of the NCAA, Mountain West Conference and other applicable conference affiliation, and the United States Air Force Academy. Provides guidance to assistant coaches to ensure the professional conduct and performance of program's staff and cadet athlete. Manage, administer and instruct Sport Camps as required by the Director of Athletics.
