Summary About the Position: This is a Full-time, Seasonal Teacher (Health Care grades 6-12) position at Guam High School, located in Agana, Guam.Federal employees at Guam High School are currently entitled to receive a 11.88% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoWEA is committed to ensuring that all school-aged children of military families are provided a world-class education that prepares them for postsecondary education and/or career success and to be leading contributors in their communities as well as in our 21st century globalized society.Major Duties: Develop lesson plans independently within the framework of approved curriculum standards, course outlines, texts, and guidelines. Support, counsel, and motivate students to meet of exceed grade-level standards. Establish classroom routines consistent with a healthy learning environment. Adhere to and, when applicable, implement safety and security procedures. Evaluate and develop educational materials to improve the educational program. Using teaching principles and best practices and standards-based instruction to instruct assigned subject(s) and grade level(s) in a classroom or lab setting.
