The Tataskweyak Education Authority, an administrative body for the Tataskweyak Cree Nation (Split Lake) is seeking applications for the following teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year: Grades 9-12 Business Education/Computer Teacher  Start Date: August 31, 2026 Term Ending: June 30, 2027 The ability to speak Cree would be an asset Applicants must have, or be eligible for, Manitoba Certification. http://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/certification  Split Lake is situated along the shores of the mighty Nelson River and is accessible via Thompson, Manitoba by PR 280, an all-weather road that is 150km in distance. The community has an approximate population of 2000+ residents. A local Board of Directors administers the educational programs. The Chief Sam Cook Mahmuwee Education Center provides its student population a modern facility with up to date technological support. The school, which houses the regular classrooms, 2 � 20 computer labs which are all connected to a file server and the Internet, a science laboratory, home-economics, industrial arts, gymnasium with a weight room, library and a special education room was completed in 1991. The school is in use in the evenings for the benefit of the teaching staff and community members. The teaching staff are provided with furnished housing which are serviced by modern day conveniences. Split Lake also has the conveniences of an artificial ice surface arena, pool tables and other table and video games. In close proximity is a Video Lottery Terminal facility. The outdoors is accommodating to what you desire. The local people pursue and share their traditional activities in gathering, fishing, trapping and hunting.
