Poplar River First Nation is seeking to hire a Vice Principal for the 2026/2027 school year. Poplar River School requires a dedicated and experienced leader who can assist with overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate must be skilled at managing staff and is able to foster a collaborative, supportive team environment. In addition to managing administrative tasks, the Vice Principal must be committed to maintaining curriculum standards and adhering to school policies. We are seeking an Administrator who can inspire a positive and efficient learning environment, and is able to create a genuine sense of safety and belonging across the entire school community. Poplar River School serves approximately 400 students, offering Nursery/Kindergarten through Grade 12 classes. We provide a competitive remuneration and benefits package, along with subsidized housing, furnished apartments with Wi-Fi, and a travel allowance. Our team includes one Principal, two Vice Principals, 30 Teachers, 32 Educational Assistants, and more than 10 Support Staff. We offer Professional Development opportunities with local sessions available year-round to support ongoing growth and knowledge. We encourage staff to participate in student trips on the land, community events, and other school activities held outside the community. Requirements:Bachelor of Education DegreeCertificate in School leadership- considered an assetExperience of 5 years or more in a Principal roleExperience working in a First Nation Community- considered an assetKnowledge in indigenous history, culture, and current issuesAbility to communicate effectively and consistently Must have strong technological skillsMust have strong analytical, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skillsMust consistently foster positive, collaborative relationships within group settingsAbility to oversee multiple programs, and multitask Ability to delegate tasks and managing riskAbility to stay organized and meet deadlines.Ability to navigate challenging, high-pressure, and sensitive circumstances with composure and professionalism.Ability to work effectively in a team while empowering team members
