 Literacy/Assessment FacilitatorJob Ad #: 400-26-011Position OverviewThe Literacy/Assessment Facilitator will assist in the development of instructional resource materials that are relevant to First Nations students. The facilitator supports the delivery and development of innovative programming and classroom-based and province-wide student learning assessment, evaluation and reporting to enhance the quality and standards for students in First Nations schools. Education·        Bachelor of Education Degree specializing in Literacy with a valid Manitoba teaching certificate Experience    Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the elementary and/or senior high levelExperience implementing Manitoba curriculum frameworks with a focus on literacyProven experience in curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluationExperience working with First Nations communities in an education settingExperience with student assessment and evaluaion practices, including formative and summative methods, provincial standards testing, and reportingQualificationsDemonstrated respect for First Nations cultures and approaches to educationKnowledge of Manitoba First Nations education systems, reforms, and socioeconomic contextsStrong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships with students, families, and professionalsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalismAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary teamComputer proficiency required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applicationsValid Class 5 driver’s license, and insured vehicleWillingness to travel to rural and remote First Nations communitiesFluency in a First Nations language is an asset Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume and cover letter (stating the position title and job ad #), and any questions to: employment@mfnerc.com Deadline: Open until Filled We thank all who apply, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
