Grade 1-5 Movement & Arts Teacher (0.42 FTE)The Grades 1-5 Movement & Arts Teacher has a passion for Waldorf education and inspires a love of learning in children and youth. Key qualities are strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment across departments. With the responsibility of carrying a class of up to 30 students, the successful candidate will have excellent class management and organizational skills.Position SummaryThe Grade 1-5 Movement & Arts Teacher is responsible for teaching Physical & Health Education, Arts Education including dance Arts, and English Language Arts in Grades 1-5 at the Vancouver Waldorf School.Within Movement & Arts Teaching, the responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:lesson planning & classroom preparation;teaching track classes in Grades 1-5;student assessment; andreport writing.The Movement & Arts teacher will also be responsible for:attendance at faculty meetings;school liaison for parents; andattendance at all school events and faculty meetings.Education and Skill Requirements:BC Teacher Certification5 years or more of Waldorf Class Teaching is preferredWaldorf Training CertificateFluent in written and spoken English.Excellent organizational skillsExperience of working with children 6 to 12 years oldCompetency with word processingCompatibility with existing Faculty, volunteers and parentsTerms of employment: permanent, part-time (0.42 FTE). Specific days and hours are determined by the employment agreement.Remuneration: $53,000.00 to $85,00.00/year prorated to FTE based on experience and credentials.
