Student Services/Special Education support teacher

Chief Poundmaker School of Poundmaker Cree Nation is looking for a Student Services/Special Education support teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a PK-Gr. 12 Cree First Nation school located 65km northwest of North Battleford.Duties and Responsibilities:·  Focus on improving instruction and meeting the needs of the learner·  Nurture, support, and guide young learners·  Develop IEP for identified students·  Conduct formal and informal ongoing assessment of students·  Implement IEP through ongoing direct and indirect service·  Incorporate appropriate technology and media in planning·  Schedule and provide programming for teacher assistants·  Coordinate IEP conferences·  Apply and submit low incidence funding applications, Jordan’s Principle applications·  Facilitate learning activities both within the classroom setting and outdoors·  Participate in co-curricular school activities·  Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, respect, and safety within the classroom·  Support families with open, ongoing communication·  Assist with Volunteer programs and cross-age and peer-tutoring programs·  Assist in report writing for High-Cost Special Education Program Position Qualifications:·  Possess or be in application of a valid SK Teaching Certificate·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in education·  Models a strong work ethic as well as high standards of commitment·  Must have an awareness and appreciation of Native culture·  Fosters school mission, values, and sense of community through student-centered decisions·  Effectively communicates with staff, parents, and students·  Maintains professionalism through all school interactions and activities·  Values continual growth and development of school programs and curriculum
