The Instructor applies a learner-centered approach to support students in their transition to post-secondary education and works as part of an instructional team to deliver courses, provide academic support, and introduce students to the culture of post-secondary education. The Instructor cultivates a learning environment that supports learners holistically and ensures that students are equipped to thrive at UCN. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Education Degree; equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredExperience teaching or working with adult and Indigenous individualsExperience working collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to create a positive working and learning environmentUnderstanding of cultural and language influences specific to adult learners in Northern communitiesUnderstanding of wrap-around supports to ensure student successStrong communication and interpersonal skillsEffective time management skillsCommitment to supporting students attaining educational goalsCommitment to life-long learning ASSETS: Masters Degree in related fieldAbility to speak an Indigenous languageKnowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures  CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of CanadaValid Class 5 drivers license as travel is requiredRequired to work occasional evening and weekends   Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
