Frontier School Division Invites Applications For The Following Position    Position: Teaching Principal (Middle Years)Location: Matheson Island School Start Date: September 8, 2026FTE: 1.00 FTE                Term of Employment: Term to October 31, 2026Application Deadline: Open Until Filled  ABOUT THE COMMUNITYMatheson Island School is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 15 students.  Matheson Island is a picturesque and peaceful community with approximately 100 residents, located close to the Narrows on Lake Winnipeg.  It is a three-hour drive from Winnipeg and is accessible year-round by ferry and winter road.  The area’s natural beauty provides for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities and is known for its incredible sunsets.  WHAT WE OFFER•       Highly competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you both professionally and personally.•       Transportation and relocation expense reimbursement to ensure a smooth transition•       Subsidized housing or a housing allowance.•       Isolation allowance•       Annual travel reimbursement•       Allowances for approved courses•       Additional supports that recognize the importance of work-life balance and continuous growth. •       All of the above, and more, are provided in accordance with the Provincial Manitoba Teachers’ Collective Agreement, including the Frontier School Division addendum. WHAT YOU BRING•       Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)•       Master’s degree in education/administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset•       At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administrative experience•       Previous success with development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plans•       A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology•       Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)•       Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
