This role is designed to bridge service gaps, strengthen food security, support prevention-based health care, and promote wellness through local culture, traditional foods, and community knowledge.The position centers on relationship-building, trust, and culturally safe practice, ensuring nutrition services are community-driven, accessible, and respectful of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing.   Core ResponsibilitiesSchool-Based ServicesProvide nutrition education for students using culturally relevant and age-appropriate approachesSupport school meal and snack programs that integrate:Traditional foodsLocal food sourcesNutritionally balanced optionsWork alongside educators to embed food education into learning activitiesSupport families with practical nutrition strategies for home environmentsHealth Centre ServicesOffer individual and family nutrition support through referrals and walk-in servicesSupport prevention-focused care (diabetes prevention, maternal health, child development, chronic disease support)Collaborate with health staff to provide integrated, wraparound careDevelop culturally safe nutrition plans that reflect community realities and accessCommunity-Based ServicesFacilitate community workshops and programs focused on:Traditional foodsFood preparation skillsBudget-friendly nutritionFood preservation and seasonal eatingSupport local food initiatives (community gardens, harvesting, traditional food knowledge-sharing)Work with Elders and knowledge keepers to honor traditional food systemsPromote food sovereignty and community food resilience   Bridging the GapsThis role acts as a connector between systems:School ?
