Summary A cut-off of 6/5/2026 will be used to send eligible applicants to management. This position is located at Fort Irwin, California. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Fort Irwin is a world class training center for America's Soldiers, known for its excellent desert training and vast recreational opportunities. Located approximately 37 miles NE of Barstow, California, in the High Mojave Desert midway between Las Vegas Nevada and Los Angeles, California, Fort Irwin has many fun activities such as Desert Discovery, 6 hole Pitch N' Putt golf course, Skeet and Trap range, High Adventure and Sightseeing Trips. Nearest airports are located in Ontario, CA (120 miles), Los Angeles (175 miles) and Las Vegas (180 miles). - Selectees may have the option to reside in On-Post Housing, at their own cost. Information may be obtained from The Villages at Fort Irwin, (760)386-4663 and/or http://www.villagesatfortirwin.com. - Ride Sharing/ Mass Transit Subsidies/eRide/etc. for individuals who live in the surrounding geographical area. As an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 December 2026. This announcement will be used to fill positions across the CYS program in different facilities and age groups. Referrals will be based on the preferences you indicate in the application process.Major Duties: Provide a comprehensive inclusive approach to serving children and youth, ages six weeks to 18 years, with medical, educational, or other identified needs participating in Department of Defense (DoD) Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs. Administers, implements, and monitors inclusion supports and behavior support processes in classrooms and programs by using Service-specific related tools (e.g., Army CYS Operational Guidance for Behavior Support) Coaches CYS professionals to observe children's/youth's development and individual needs, communicate effectively with families, and enhance their classroom/activity area environment and curriculum to promote inclusion and meet learning needs. Serves as a core member of the installation Inclusion Action Team (IAT)/Multidisciplinary Inclusion Action Team (M-IAT) and monitors compliance with Service policy, DoD instructions, and federal law. Spends at least 50 percent of their time in classroom/activity area settings, promoting, modeling, coaching, and mentoring CYS Professionals to promote implementation of inclusive practices.
