Employment OpportunityGrade 1聽Teacher2026-2027 School Year Fixed-Term Contract聽Birch Narrows Dene Community School is seeking applications to fill the position of聽Grade 1 Teacher. Birch Narrows Dene Nation is a community of approximately 750-800 people situated in beautiful Northern Saskatchewan. The school accommodates students from Grades N-12. The school features a gym with change rooms, a multi-purpose room, a library, a home economics room, PAA room, science and computer labs, and several resource areas. BNDCS is proud to establish a community of learners through positive relationships which promote Dene/Cree/Michif cultures, languages, and traditional knowledge. The school has a cabin and offers Land-Based education, which incorporates a holistic approach to bridging Indigenous ways of knowing and academics to prepare students to succeed in the education system. 聽Qualifications:聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor of Education degree or higher from an accredited institution.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Eligible for a Saskatchewan Professional 聯A聰 or Provisional Professional 聯A聰 teaching certificate.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have a working knowledge of Canada聮s Indigenous Peoples and to integrate their culture, values and history into the curriculum.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have high standards and expectations for academic achievement.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have excellent classroom management skills, and able to utilize and demonstrate positive classroom/behavior management strategies.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Accommodate and include special needs children by adjusting teaching styles and curriculum as required for inclusion.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Committed to completing the school year.路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 We offer our employees: STF Provincial Salary Grid; Northern Allowance; Comprehensive Benefits Package & Pension Plan including CPP; with a signing bonus; and Professional Development/Workshops.聽Interested applicants are invited to submit: A letter of application, resume stating qualifications and work experience, copies of credentials, current RCMP Security Clearance (Criminal Record Check inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector Check), a copy of your valid driver聮s license, and three (3) recent professional supervisory references.聽Options to apply:1.
