EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYNumeracy Catalyst  Employment Type: Full-Time CONTRACT Position  Closing date: Open until filled  Kopahawakenum Community School on the Flying Dust First Nation is looking for a motivated, creative, collaborative applicant with a passion for working with elementary and middle years students. A successful candidate will be energetic and committed to providing a rich learning environment that is conducive to learning for all students. Successful candidate will also hold strong relationship building and mentorship skills required to support classroom teachers in the area of numeracy. We pay according to Saskatchewan Teachers Federation salary grid. Core Competencies:Work closely with MLTC Numeracy Coordinator and other staff.Familiar with the Response to Intervention Model.Excellent knowledge of Formative, Summative and Diagnostic assessment practice in Numeracy.Model Lifelong Learning by staying current with “Best Practices in Mathematics instruction and assessment.Fosters instructional change and promote teaching practices that could advance student learning.Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math services in individual, and/or small group settings.Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support learning and instructions.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.Administer Basic Concept of Math Testing and Quick Screeners.Design and implement all lesson plans to ensure compliance to all student learning styles.Perform assessment of all student learning styles and participate in all students and parents conference as per system policies.Lead school numeracy data team meetings in the area of numeracy. Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:   A bachelor’s degree in Education; a Master’s Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate would be considered an asset.  Saskatchewan Professional “A” Teachers’ Certification or the ability to obtain such standing; and a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Professional Teacher Regulatory Board (SPTRB).  Experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities. All applicants must possess and provide the following requirements:Letter of ApplicationCurrent resume stating qualifications, and employment historyCopies of CredentialsCurrent Consent for Disclosure of Criminal Record Information with the Results of Vulnerable Sector Check (CPIC) from your local RCMP Detachment(3) Professional references (1) from last/current employer  Please sent information to:  Dana LauingerEmail Address: human.resources@flyingdust.netPhone number: 306-236-4437
