Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Medicine, Early Intervention Services (EIS) Branch of the U.S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka, Japan. Incumbent provides early intervention-specific procedural, legislative, and educational training to all EIS staff, community partners, and to Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) personnel. As an integrated health care system, the Defense Health Agency delivers healthcare services across the Department of Defense and enables combat support to the Joint Force as a strategic partner. Through a robust healthcare delivery system, and a dedicated team of inspired professionals, the Agency ensures the worldwide delivery of medical, dental, and pharmacy programs to more than 9.5 million uniformed service members, retirees, and their families, by improving health and building readiness Anytime, Anywhere-Always..Major Duties: Provide early intervention-specific procedural, legislative, and educational training to all Early Intervention Services (EIS) staff, community partners, and medical facility personnel. Monitor continued compliance with Defense Health Agency (DHA) requirements to provide retraining as needed and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain record of personnel training to ensure compliance with all applicable training requirements of EIS staff. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to meet the changing needs of the child and family. Provide early intervention services in natural environments, including homes, child development centers, and community settings. Coordinate services across agencies and inform families of their due-process rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act(IDEA) and applicable DoD/DHA regulations. Coordinate Child Find activities to ensure infants and toddlers with special needs are identified and referred for evaluation.
