Grade 8 Teacher-SAULTEAUX Saulteaux Heritage School is accepting applications for the Grade 8 Teacher.  Saulteaux Heritage School is located on Saulteaux First Nation, approximately 40 km north of North Battleford, SK.  Duties and Responsibilities:•  Focus on improving instruction and meeting the needs of the learner•  Nurture, support and guide young learners•  Prepare engaging lessons and interactive learning activities/materials•  Conduct formal and informal assessment of students•  Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning•  Facilitate learning activities both within the classroom setting and outdoors•  Participate in co-curricular school activities•  Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, respect and safety within the classroom•  Support families with open, ongoing communication•  Prepare course timelines and materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts•  Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives that follow SK curriculum standardsPosition Qualifications:•  Possess or be in application of a valid SK Teaching Certificate•  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in education•  Understands and uses current literacy practices and teaching strategies•  Models a strong work ethic as well as high standards of commitment•  Must have an awareness and appreciation of Native culture•  Fosters school mission, values and sense of community through student-centered decisions•  Effectively communicates with staff, parents and students•  Maintains professionalism through all school interactions and activities•  Values continual growth and development of school programs and curriculum
