 LLRC Early Learning Consultant (2026-2027 School Year Contract) Employment Opportunity   MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10.   The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy.  As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people. ·        This competition is open to all applicants; and ·        Preference will be given to First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the qualifications, knowledge and skills to meet the minimum suitability requirements as stated for the position    MLTC Education is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to join the team as the LLRC Early Learning Consultant. The Consultant will report directly to the Superintendent of Education and will implement and support the Land, Language, Relationships and Culture foundations within the position which includes but is not limited to: work plans, projects, initiatives, resources, planning, collaborations, etc. The Early Learning Consultant will provide support in center/classroom-based and in-home services for children in Headstart/Nursery and Kindergarten, and Grades 1-3. The Early Learning Consultant will work collaboratively with staff/teachers, Headstart, Daycare, and Maternal Health services within the Meadow Lake Tribal Council. The Early Learning Consultant will support the Talk2Learn program. These supports reflect our collaborated best practices and MLTC Education initiatives.     Duties & Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to): ·        Responsible for the implementation of school-based needs and providing long-range second-level service & delivery – modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessment. ·        Monitoring and follow-up on project timelines.·        Standardized Program Assessments; Needs Assessments and Early Years Evaluation. ·        Professional Development§  Co-present and facilitate for all MLFN – Early Childhood Education staff and Grade 1-3 teachers. §  Providing professional development and training supports to Early Literacy Interventionists (ELIs), Kindergarten teachers, Nursery teachers, and Grade 1-3 teachers (and other school staff as needed).·        In-class mentoring support for teachers in the area of literacy; networking for teachers through classroom visits and technology.·        Support Early Learning classrooms with year planning, unit planning, lesson plans, and day plans.·        Facilitate video feedback sessions with ELIs to allow ELIs to reflect on the use of language development strategies with students.·        Support for all event planning details and collaboration with team members. ·        Coach, model, and demonstrate land-based activities Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:Minimum:·        A Bachelor’s Degree in Education·        Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers’ Certification or the ability to obtain such standing; and a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience.Preferred:·        Master’s Degree or commitment to begin studies in an appropriate field.·        Experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities.Other:·        Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers’ Certification or the ability to obtain such standing.·        Experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities.·        Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities.·        Ability to work within a team setting and independently.·        Support land, language, relationship & culture initiatives.·        Knowledge and/or willingness to obtain training to support MLTC’s initiatives.  Interested applicants are invited to submit: A letter of application, resume stating qualifications and work experience, copies of credentials, current RCMP Security Clearance (Criminal Record Check inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector Check), a copy of your valid driver’s license, and three (3) recent professional supervisory references.Options to apply:1.
