Summary This position is located at Child and Youth Services, Watervliet, NY. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid. The Watervliet Arsenal is located in Watervliet, New York. It is an Army-owned and operated manufacturing center and is located about 160 miles north of New York City, NY on the western bank of the Hudson River. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813. Today it is relied upon by U.S. and foreign militaries to produce the most advanced, high-powered weaponry for cannon, howitzer, and mortar systems. The Arsenal is the only location in the Department of Defense that has a weapons research facility (Benet Laboratories) collocated with a manufacturing facility (Arsenal). Watervliet's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division is a comprehensive network of quality support and leisure services that enhances the lives of Soldiers, Civilians, Families, military retirees and other eligible participants. Their vision is to be the driving force for programs and services that provide the foundation for the Army'sMajor Duties: Serves as a team leader with responsibility for ensuring the program staff provides appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years in Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs. Ensures the implementation of a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of children and youth in the ages served. Instructs team members in specific tasks and job techniques; makes available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies. Develops, plans and implements age-appropriate educational lesson plans, schedules, and developmentally appropriate activities based on observed needs and interest of individual children and youth. Ensure staff follow health and safety standards when performing diapering, toileting, hand washing, cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting surfaces and materials, food service, safe sleep practices, and caring for ill children and youth.
