Anchorage School District invites applications for the following position: Elementary School Teacher Date Available: 08/14/2026 Location: Bear Valley Elementary School Job Summary: Classroom teachers create a flexible and supportive education program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. The teacher provides instruction at an appropriate grade level while establishing an effective rapport with students as well as parents and staff members. In accordance with each student’s ability, teachers motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation. The teacher reports to and is evaluated by the site principal. Job Requirements: A valid Alaska initial, professional, or master teaching certificate.Evidence of content knowledge shown by:a degree in the content area of this position; ora posted minor in the content area of this position; orpassing Praxis Subject Assessments scores (formerly Praxis II) in the content area of this position; ora certificate endorsement in the content area of this positionEducators teaching in a Kindergarten through 3rd grade class must meet requirements for the Alaska Reads Act.
