The incumbent provides routine supervisory oversight, accountability, safety of children, instruction, mentoring, and coaching for CYP direct care professionals who work in Department of Defense (DoD) operated military Child Development Centers or School Age Care Programs. The incumbent supervises, coaches, and manages their work to ensure the ongoing staff development, execution of DoD standards of care and curriculum, and delivery of care are consistent with best practices of child/youth development programs. The incumbent is responsible for providing guidance on scope of work and related duties, and assistance on the more complex, non-routine problems encountered by Child Development direct care professionals. Duties: 1. As a supervisor, ensures staff provide appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth in Child Development or School Age Care Programs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and (Child and Youth Programs) objectives. 2. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. 3. : Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other managers and professional staff to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality for all children and youth. 4. Support and consistently reinforce developmental training of Child Development Center or School Age Care Programs direct care professionals. 5. Conduct and review program evaluations of classroom and activity areas, identifying areas that need improvement, and establishing and implementing corrective action plans to address deficiencies. 6. Conducts quality assurance checks on classroom/activity records to include, after action plans, medication and allergy documentation, classroom inspection checklists, temperature logs, inclusion and behavior support plans, accident/incident reports, child attendance and accountability reports, as well as any locally required documentation.
